On March 25–28 Lithuania will participate in the 50th Bologna Children‘s Book Fair. Organised by the International Culture Programme Centre, Lithuania‘s national stand will feature illustrators Kestutis Kasparavicius, Sigute Chlebinskaite and Ieva Babilaite. Guests will have the opportunity to see the most beautifully illustrated children‘s books published in Lithuania, as well as several other exciting features, such as the educational – creative studio for children “You Can Create A Book“, interactive e–books for children and a special book exhibition of the internationally celebrated artist Kestutis Kasparavicius, which is dedicated to the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Fair.
The exposition of the most famous Lithuanian illustrator Kestutis Kasparavicius consists of books published not only in Lithuanian, but also in Spanish, Italian, Croatian, German, Danish, English, Greek, Korean and Chinese languages. The illustrator is a favourite and welcome guest of the Fair, since 1998 he has participated 13 times in the Illustrators Exhibition.
Representing the International Vilnius Book Fair, the main literary event in Lithuania, is the project by Sigute Chlebinskaite, titled “You Can Create A Book“ – a creative studio for children that offers them a unique opportunity to participate in creative workshops and to meet creators of children‘s literature from Lithuania and abroad. The aims and inner workings of the project will be presented by the founder herself.
