Lithuanian Culture Through Photography

This collection of photographs conveys some memorable moments in Lithuanian culture. The show has an unorthodox visual format, and has been curated by the acclaimed artist Saulius Valius, who has arranged the exhibition in a way that highlights the old and elegant architectural spaces of the 16th-century Palazzo d’Accursio.

The pictures show Baroque Vilnius, which was inspired by Italian architecture, and some manifestations of its creative spirit that are captured in the most unexpected spaces of the town. The viewer will also encounter some legendary figures in Lithuanian culture: Eimuntas Nekrošius, a director who is already well known in Italy, Jonas Mekas, the godfather of the avant-garde film movement, Petras Geniušas, a virtuoso pianist, and younger stars, such as Alina Orlova, a singer with a genuine talent, Gytis Ivanauskas, a dancer and actor, and many others.

With photography by Arūnas Baltėnas, Gediminas Bartuška, Ramūnas Danisevičius, Viktoras Kapočius, Valdas Kopūstas, Dimitrijus Matvejevas, Vacys Valužis and others.
