2012 11 21

On 22nd November the exhibition Illustrarium: Soviet Lithuanian Children's Book Illustration opens at the International Youth Library in Munich (Internationale Jugendbibliothek – www.ijb.de) and will be displayed untill February 2013.

The exhibition presents illustrations and books created between 1945 and 1990. The aim of the display is to evoke a general Soviet-epoch context in Lithuania in which these children’s books were published and showing the most interesting work from Lithuanian artists of the field.

The International Youth Library is the largest library for international children's and youth literature in the world. Ever since it was opened in 1949 by Jella Lepman, it has been continuously expanded to an internationally recognised centre for the world's children's and youth literature.
